37 Weeks! - November 15 - 18, 2013
As of today, we are 37 weeks and Logan is officially a full term baby! This is when the doctors say that things really start kicking in for the preemies, lets hope this includes our little man!
Over the past couple of days we have continued to make some great progress! We are now up to 5 pounds 5 ounces, he gained an ounce just in the last day! Also, as of this morning when I was at the hospital visiting, Logan has been moved down to level 3 on the cannula (we moved to level 5 on Friday and level 4 on Saturday)!! This means we only have one more level to go before we are able to start the bottle feedings, hopefully that will be Wednesday or Thursday. According to the nurses, he will start with one bottle the first day and then they will add one bottle a day until he gets to 8 bottles and is able to digest all of them. They have warned that this could take a little while as the whole eating, swallowing, breathing thing can be tough to figure out but Logan is making great progress with his pacifier so hopefully that will be a good sign. Then...once that is all working well...we will get to bring our little man home!! It is so nice to know / see that there is a light at the end of the tunnel...fingers crossed!
This weekend was great to have Grandma Janet in town. We were able to have a lot of visits with Logan and she was able to see what great progress he is making. I know that he misses her already (as do the rest of us)!!
I have also had some questions about how I was doing...I guess I have forgotten about myself in a lot of this but appreciate the concern!! :) But...I am doing much better! I finally feel like a normal person again and the last time I went to the doctor they told me not to come back for another 4 months so fingers crossed that will be the case...now time to just focus on getting Logan better and home!
One more day down and one day closer to him coming home!!
I love Mr. Froggy and practicing for my upcoming bottle feedings! |
