Day 0 & 1

Little buddy getting ready for surgery! Sorry for not getting an update out to everyone last night but to say yesterday was a long, rough day would be an understatement!  We started our day off bright and early so that we could be at the hospital at 6 AM.  We checked in and were taken back to our room pretty quickly to wait and meet with all the doctors that would be working on Logie during the surgery.  We met with Anesthesia, Neurology, Nurses, probably 5 or 6 different people at different times came in to see us.  Finally at about 7:15 they took Logie back for surgery.  Luckily he had the iPad to distract him from leaving us and they said they got back there with no crying or problems at all.  The hospital has a very nice Ronald McDonald House that you can wait in during surgery, has drinks, snacks, comfy lounge chairs and even your own private rooms.  We were sent down there to wait for our updates and to see Dr. Park after the surgery completed.  They told us it would be ab

Tomorrow...Really???

I believe I am still in a bit of shock that this is actually happening, after 2.5+ years of discussing this surgery with all of his doctors and therapists and months of planning and arranging, tomorrow is the day and Logie's life will be forever changed!!  As a parent it is a scary, exciting, nerve-racking event to choose to put your child into surgery and intense therapy.  The number of times you second guess yourself, the surgery, the timing, the doctor is totally overwhelming but I believe we have gotten to a sense of peace for everything and tomorrow will be the big day!  Today was a big day on it's own, I think we were trying to make the most of our "mini" vacation before things got real. Thank goodness for iPad's and Headphones! We arrived into town yesterday afternoon and got situated into the Chase Park Plaza hotel which will be our new home away from home for the next week (I think the hospital may be even more so but this will be home bas

These two best buddies  are definitely going to miss  each other over the next 2 weeks! Hello Family and Friends!  I can't believe we are only one week away from surgery now!  We had our last PT today with Spasticity and I am just so excited to see how our little man will change after surgery!  We head out to St. Louis on Tuesday and then will have surgery on Thursday.  We won't know what time surgery will start yet, but they will let us know on Wednesday.  I never knew it was possible to be so excited and nervous about something all at the same time, but I know we are doing the right thing for Logie in the long run! Testing out the stroller to make sure it is approved for after surgery! Once we get situated we will let everyone know and give you more details about where we are and room numbers etc.  We would love any notes / texts / etc while we are there to help keep little man's spirits high (and ours)!!  I have also created a Facebook group to follow al
