One Month Old!! - November 10-12, 2013

Hey everyone, look at what a big One Month Old I am...just chilling in my crib!
Logan is officially One Month Old now!! It is amazing to look back and see how far he has come in a month and I can only imagine the progress we will see in the next month which all fingers and toes crossed will include our little man finally coming home to us!!

Things continue to stay about the same, we are still on level 7 of the nasal cannula but we are noticing some improvements in his breathing so hopefully they will start weening him off of it soon.  Now that he is 36 weeks his blood oxygen levels have increased which is making it a little harder for us to get off the high flow cannula but we are making some progress.

Logan is still weighing in at 4lbs and 14oz due to the diuretics he is taking, I am hoping though he has now kinda gone down in weight and back up so by his next weighing maybe we will be at 5 pounds??  They have moved up his feedings from 42cc to 45cc so that should help and he is doing really well with digesting his food and leaving very little residuals.

We got a call from the eye doctor last night and he said that Logan's eye looks great, the blood and cloudiness has cleared up, the pressure is back to normal and the retina and cornea look good as well.  He is going to take away one of the drops he is getting (currently getting 2 different ones a day) and hope that the pressure will remain the same on its own.  We are so glad to hear that has resolved itself, definitely wasn't looking forward to having to take our little man in for eye surgery.
Making Mommy's heart melt!
Our holdings are still going well, he still has some vital changes when we hold him but all in all he is doing better.  We have been trying to go back and forth between full clothes holdings and kangaroo care to see which he does better with, I think the jury is still out on that one but as long as Mommy gets to hold him one of those ways for the 2 hours plus I have been getting with him I am ok with that...  :)

Really at this point we are just in a holding pattern until he can get his breathing better under control.  I think a lot of the delay has to do with him being intibated as long as he was but unfortunately with the bruising there wasn't much we could do to help that.  Once he gets the breathing under control we can start the bottle feedings which hopefully will go well.  We have been practicing with his WubbaNub pacifier and he is doing pretty good, hopefully this will translate when he gets a real bottle.

One more day down and one day closer to him coming home!!
