One Down...Seven to Go! - November 22 - 24, 2013

Hey everyone, I finished my first bottle today!!
Logan has officially finished his first bottle and we couldn't be more excited and proud of our little man!!  On Friday and Saturday I tried giving him his bottle and we did ok but only could get down about 23cc's and 34cc's out of the 51cc's he needed to complete to have them add another bottle.  So after some discussions we decided it would be best to let the pros give it a try at least until he gets to about 4 bottles a day and it worked!!
Mommy's still getting the hang of this but she will figure it out!
On Sunday, we were there at our regular time and he was still a bit sleepy, we decided it might be best to just go ahead and hold him and let the nurses determine the best time for him to take a bottle.  He did great during our holding, did some Kangaroo Care and the whole time he took his pacifier and seemed very interested in sucking which we were hoping meant he was starting to associate that with his belly filling up.  We headed home after that feeding and then received a call shortly after that in his next feeding the nurse tried giving him the bottle and he took the whole thing for the first time!!  They say that once they get it usually they will continue to get it so here's to hoping that this means that the next 7 will go quickly and our little man will get to come home with us soon!!
Like Father Like Son!
Other than the bottle feeding things are going well, he is looking better and better everyday and you can really tell that he is getting older now.  We are at a whopping 5 pounds 9.7 ounces right now and he seems to gain about 2 ounces every two days.  They stopped his eye drops on Saturday and the doctor will be coming back in on Tuesday to check him out again, fingers crossed things are still progressing nicely, his eyes sure look good to us!  We were able to spend a lot of good quality time with Logan this weekend, now that he is older seems like the nurses are letting us have a little more control and freedom to hold him when we want.
Stretch to my left, stretch to my right...
One more day down and one day (and one bottle) closer to him coming home!!

  1. I can see Logan right before me. Once he starts sucking those bottles down there will be no stopping him.
