Days 17 & 18 - October 29-30, 2013
Still love those feet!! :) |
Besides that, he is up to 25ccs every 3 hours and he is tolerating all of his feedings with no residuals. This is one of the big steps to get him to the Intermediate Care facility, I don't know what the full amount of food he needs to be eating is yet but we are getting closer.
He has been making good progress on his CPAP, he went up on the Oxygen a little bit the first night but since then they have been able to take him back down to 21% where he has been the majority of the time. They also said that he seems to be much happier on his belly, which makes sense to me as he was laying that way in my belly for the majority of the pregnancy. He seems to be very calm and his breathing seems to be the best in that position. They have even been giving him a little pacifier to suck on, so cute to see that he has that reflex already and just keeps us optimistic that we are moving a step in the right direction!
As far as my side of things, I am still in the hospital. I had a fever through last night that finally broke in the middle of the night. They have done a couple of ultrasounds now and confirmed that there is something in my uterus they just aren't sure if it is blood clots or tissue or what so this afternoon I was sent down to do an MRI. Talk about a crazy experience, I definitely don't recommend it...they took some images of my stomach and my pelvis. After reviewing the MRI the doctors have determined that it is just blood that is in my uterus and for some reason it just doesn't want to come out. They think this may be due to the infection that my uterus just got "tired" from being infected so it wasn't working to push out the blood. They are going to be giving me some medicine tonight that is supposed to help with the cramping and to expel stuff within the uterus and hopefully this will get the process moving as the doctors would like to keep from having to do another surgery or procedure on me. They said if this works and my fever stays down that hopefully I will be able to be moved to oral antibiotics and sent home on Friday at the earliest. If not, there is a good chance that I will have to have another procedure to try and remove what is still in there. It's another situation where they haven't seen anything like this and don't really understand why my uterus isn't wanting to shrink on its own...gotta love being 1 in a billion! Let's just keep our fingers crossed it works, I am really ready to get out of here!! :(
One more day down and one day closer to him coming home!!
