Sorry it has been.a couple of weeks since my last post. There is a lot to catch you up on at school and some activities Logan and I have done during the month of October!ππ
As you all know our little man turned 3 this month!! He had a very special Birthday Celebratiom surrounded by lots of Family. I know Mommy caught you up on all of thatπ
Logan and I have tried to stay pretty busy when he is not in therapies or school. October is usually a nice time to be outside but not this year in Atlanta....so hot! But there were a couple of days that were bearable, so we took advantage of it! Some of our activities included the Zoo and walking around Marietta Square. Each place was decorated with Spooky Fall Decorations and of course lots of Pumpkins!!
Scarecrows in the Square!
Fall Fun at the Zoo!!
Spider-Man!!
Watching my favorite big brothers play football!!
Alex cuddles are the best!!
My Fave new park!!
This month in School the kids worked on the colors Orange and Red. They talked about Community Helpers and of course all things Fall. Logan continues to enjoy his Walker "Bike"! He also has lots of friends that want to help and play with him!! His best buddy is Sam. Their little Frienship is adorable! Sam is very protective almost possessive over Logis.. He lets everyone know he is the only one that can push Logan in the car or tickle him when he is sad.
Logan ventured out and also began to enjoy Finger Painting and playing with Playdough. He is usually all about the Electronics! He has become quite social and very talkative! Our little Parot for sure!
Playdough Artist!
Unfortunately Logie wasn't feeling very well for Halloween but he did get to put on his Superman outfit for us and look the part. Bummed he missed out on the trick or treating but there is always next year! :)
Therapies have been going well, look at him standing on the horse!!! There is also a video of him swimming below, I warn you it is quite long but you can see what a little fish he has become!! We had to say goodbye to one of our favorite PTs this week unfortunately due to our new schedule coming up, we will miss Lisa a bunch!!
Miss you Lisa!! Thanks for everything!
I think that is all for now, sorry for the long catch up we will try to be more regular just been a busy busy month! Until next time... :)
Logan holding Daddy's finger! Another good day in the world of Logan! The most exciting part of our day is that as of last night, they were able to totally ween Logan off his Dopamene (it was regulating his blood pressure) which in turn means Logan got his first meal this afternoon!! They said that he took it really well and didn't have any spit up which was a great sign so hopefully this is just the beginning and we will be able to continue this going forward! (now if only my milk will come in so I can feed him!) Besides that, the cardiologist came in again today and the PDA valve that I mentioned before still hasn't closed. They are going to check it one more time on Friday and if there is still no progress they will try using medicine to close it. We are hoping this will work but if not he will have to have a little procedure where they will go in through his back to manually close it off. Logan's Home Away from Home! When we were there...
4 weeks is so tiring!! Our little man is officially 4 weeks old now! It is amazing how far he has come and how much he looks like a little baby now. The past 4 weeks have definitely been hard ones but it is reassuring to see how far he has come and I know we still have a little ways to go but we have made great progress so far... Things continue to be pretty stable with Logan over the past couple of days, we are still on the nasal cannula and at level 7, so no big movement there. We think that some of this has to do with the fact that he had to be intibated for so long, but the doctor is trying him on some diuretics to see if that may help as well. He said there is a chance that there is some fluid in his lungs causing it to be a little harder for him to get stable on his breathing so fingers crossed that will work, it seemed to be a little better yesterday. As of Thursday night he is weighing in at 4lbs 14.5oz so we are almost to 5 pounds....
Mommy's love! After all the anticipation and worry about Day 3 we were pleasantly surprised when it ended up being our best day yet! Logan slept great on Saturday night, no spasms and I think we all woke up rested and happy which was huge. They came in around 6:30 and took out the epidural, he did it so quickly that Chris actually thinks he accidentally just pulled it out...however I think that was just how they do it, who knows?? We were also able to get off the vital machines, so that was one less thing we had connected to Logan...only thing left was the IV which they were keeping on to administer the antibiotics and some of his pain medicine. At about 8:30 the PT's came in to teach us how to help Logie get out of bed and how we need to transfer him and carry him while he heals. The main thing was that we really need to keep his back and hips in alignment and not allow for him to twist too much or to let his legs hang and pull on the back. ...
